SA’s New Planning System

SA’s new planning system kicks off in metropolitan Adelaide today!

The planning & development system has been undergoing reform over the past 5 years with thousands of hours of work going into creating the new system by planning, building, allied development professionals & the construction industry across South Australia. It has been a monumental task & a great deal of gratitude goes out to all involved!

The new planning system includes many improvements with the aim of making the system simpler, faster & more certain for specific types of development. To enable this to happen development information is now accessible online & a new assessment pathway has been introduced - Deemed to Satisfy (DTS).

At West Planning & Building Approvals, we are accredited to assess & issue planning consent for DTS types of development including dwellings (1 or more), dwelling additions, garages, carports, sheds, verandahs, pergolas, decks & land division.

Because we only focus on DTS types of development we can assess proposals seeking planning consent really quickly without the need to go through Council.
